Have you ever had one of those days when everything just seems so utterly futile? Well yesterday started like that. Kids have been at swimming all week - which requires a stupid amount of traveling on the really crap bus service around here. The worst thing about taking the bus is that I end up reading Metro which destroys my usual state of ignorant bliss and causes me to foam at the mouth. The government, the total lack of standards in reporting and all the stupid petty people with their stupid petty opinions which cause so much harm in our society - to name but a few of my favorite rants.
Still a night in good company proved the tonic for the soul I had been needing. Gaz and I finally managed to take Kat and Michael up on a long standing dinner invitation. Michael's sausage and chicken gumbo was fabulous and will definitely be making an appearance on the Gnosis menu this year. We spent the rest of the evening relaxing, drinking red wine and playing the Lord of the Rings board game. The great thing about the game is that all the players are pitted against the board rather than each other so the only way to win is by co-operating. Given Gaz and I are both hyper-competitive it was probably the most co-operative we have been in 8 years of marriage.
Later we headed out to a near by garage to mine for ice-cream. Mmmm Cookie Dough and Phish Food! Ambrose (Kat's cat) then proceeded to provide the entertainment as he hunted us all for a lick of ice-cream.
So to all of you when you are felling down may you find Good food, Good friends and Good fun!
Bye for now
Just wanted to thank everyone at Templum Amoris for a spectacular Mass. It made me tingle all over;-P
Look forward to seeing you all again soon.
Thoroughly Gnosticated hugs and kisses to all.
Ok somehow my first post to Vox seems to have been lost or not posted or something so I think I'll have another try -
This year has got to rank as one of my best ever years of all time, not only did I get to fulfil a lifelong ambition and see the Taj Mahal I also got to see a real live Tiger eating breakfast in the wild and more ancient monuments than you can shake a stick at. Then I got to go hiking in the foot hills of the Himalaya's seeing some of the most spectacular views ever and proving that I am indeed a mountain goat.
Work has been going fantastically ever since I got the balls to quick the shit admin job that was grinding me down. I now work as freelance so I have no childcare issues and plenty of family time - I can work when I like from anywhere on the globe with an Internet connection. This week I have just submitted my first piece of design work so fingers and toes crossed that I will be picked to finish the job as this will mean a steady flow of work for the future.
Gaz is back from India and it is like being in love for the first time all over again right down to needing to be prised from the bedroom with a crowbar. With the Tiggr back in blighty we have been off out nearly every weekend catching up with friends old and new.
As the end of the summer holidays comes around the corner I look forward to getting back to my Judo and Yoga which have been on hold while I have been running around having fun.
All in all life is throughly excellent and long may it continue this way - Hope all is just as good where you are.
Hugs
